FINDING A DEVIL IN YOUR CHURCH'S PULPIT

already been discussed. We must remember that Satan wishes to destroy the Word of God!

God’s Word Preserved Throughout History

It is commonly agreed that the Old Testament has been preserved in the Masoretic Hebrew text, sometimes called the traditional Hebrew text, as has already been stated. This was confirmed by Christ as we also have already looked at.  The Greek text of the Old testament, the Septuagint,  is a translation from the Hebrew and Aramaic Scriptures. It is now a good translation in many places, but very poor in others, because of Origen. In the second Century AD, Origen rewrote the Septuagint Version of the Scriptures, and made a good translation, even possible quoted by Christ, into a corrupt text. I notice that when I open my copy of the Septuagint, in the preface it even states the Septuagint as revised by Origen. We will see later, that Origen also corrupted the Westcott and Hort Greek text. Since the Septuagint is just a translation anyway, to get the perfect Old Testament, we must use only the Masoretic text. Remember, in the Old Testament, the Hebrew, and the Aramaic in only 10 verses, is the final authority. When we get to the New Testament, the true Biblical line is not quite as simple as the Old Testament, but the New Testament line can be followed. Here is that true line.

  1. The Apostles wrote the New Testament from about 50 AD to 96 AD. This was written in Koine Greek (Common Greek). These Greek writings were the original manuscripts. NOTE – Manuscripts instead of manuscript, for they were not put together to start with.
  1. The Syrian’s copied from the original Word (original autographs) from 100 AD to 200 AD, in the Syrian Manuscripts of Asia Minor.
This was copied from the Apostles writings.  This was a Byzantine text.
  1. There were also copies made of the original Greek manuscripts in what is called old Latin. (These manuscripts are greatly different from the satanic Latin manuscripts of the Catholic Vulgate).  Manuscripts were also made in old Syria, from the Byzantine Greek Originals. From 100 AD until 400 AD. – Points #2 & #3 are from the “Foundation and Authority of the Word of God”, by Bruce Cummons. There are now more than 350 manuscripts from the 400’s of the Old Syrian still preserved.
  1. There were copies also made in the Papyrus Readings of the Receptus from 150AD to 400AD, from the Byzantine text – From Cummon’s book.
  1. Copies were also made in the Latin Bibles of the Waldensians,  from 157 AD until 1300 AD. This group has often been called the true church in the wilderness. Their original copies came from the original Greek manuscripts,
